Question Clay Bar or Ultimate Wax System?

I just recently purchased a used 2000 Chevrolet S10 in near-perfect condition. Just a few paint nicks and scratches from stones (the truck was out in the country). My plan is to strip the old wax, apply my touch-up paint, use step 2 (sealer and glaze in the ultimate wax system), then use the pure carnanuba wax to add the final shine and protection. My question is: does the clay bar work better than step 1 in the Ultimate Wax system? I have heard so many things about the clay bar and how good it is and the same goes for step 1. Which one is better?

How were you planning on stripping the old wax? Pre-Wax Cleaner would do that, along with helping to improve the appearance of the paint.

Clay and Pre-Wax Cleaner are actually 2 different types of products - clay removes contaminants bonded to the paint surface (all those bumps you feel when you run your fingertips lightly over the surface) while Pre-Wax Cleaner helps to remove light oxidation, and minor marring of the paint surface.

In your case, I believe both clay and Pre-Wax Cleaner are called for.

I was planning on using the Pre-Wax Cleaner to remove the old wax. I was just unsure as to whether the Pre-Wax cleaner did the same job as the Clay Bar. Since now that you've told me that the clay bar and the cleaner are two different things, I think I'll do them both (as well as the last two steps in the wax system). What should I do first, the clay bar or the Pre-Wax cleaner?

Clay first...then the Pre Wax Cleaner....then the Sealer and Glaze, then the Pure Carnauba Wax....then you stand back and admire what you have done.....

Where should I apply my touch-up paint? Before the Pre-Wax Cleaner or after? As you might be able to tell this is my first time working with Mothers Products Waxes and Wax Products. I have been working with most all of your other products and have gotten exceptional results. Keep up the good work guys!

I'd wash, then clay. Prep the area with alcohol and then apply the touch up paint.

After a suitable period for the paint to dry, use the Paint Chip Repair product.

Then, go through your Ultimate Wax system steps.
