Default Water Spot Removal

I have been slowly but surely removing hard water spots of my windshield using chrome polish and steel wool.
This is going slow... I have to do it by hand.. is there a better, faster way?

Have you tried soaking a small towel in distilled white vinegar and laying it on spots for a few minutes?

Often times, this will dissolve the hard water spots.

On something like this, it's best to dissolve what you can and neutralize the minerals, then polish away what you can't.

If you have etching, that's another story, and will probably require a commercial/specialty polish with cerium oxide.

Pretty sure there is no etching as some are going away using chrome polish and steel wool but there has to be a quicker way. Thanks.
