Does pure wax carnauba (Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
Hi, I'm new here.
And I wonder about the effect of carnauba wax has to the white pearl car. Coz' I've heard a lot about white pearl car should not use yellow carnauba, otherwise it would turn to yellow?!
Is that real? If so, Which Mothers product should be used with the white pearl car?
Another question about Carnauba Wax
I saw some carnauba car wax announce that this wax made from 100% carnauba wax and they've sold around 10-70$.
But I saw that the most expensive wax in the world which made from white carnauba "Zymol Solaris", it contains only 71% of carnauba.
I'm very confuse that why the most expensive wax didn't contain with all pure white carnauba 100%? Why it must be mixed with other ingredients? What about Mothers step3, How much of carnauba wax is contained?
Thank you very much.

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
hello Mr. Phongmali,,,
im newbie but i'll try give my opinion.
yellow carnauba wont turn your white car to the yellow car, becouse i have some experience waxing white car and silver pearl car with conventional yellow carnauba wax.
but if you still affraid to do that, you can use : mothers reflections wax and the mothers FX wax, that 2 thing is not carnauba base but polymer base.
some manufacture said "this wax contain 100% carnauba wax", they mean's not 100% of carnauba, but their wax doesnt contain any syntetic base (like polymer or silicone, but only carnauba), and the "expensive brand" like zymol, swissvax is said "our wax contain 30% / 50% / 70% carnauba" is mean they make the wax with percentage of total ingredients, (the extreme example is : my drink is contain 100% water,,, but the "expensive drink" said my drink contain 70% water, 5% HHO, 10% high quality oxygen, and blablabla"
sory if my language confusing you,, please somebody with great english translate my lousy bloody statement...

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
My Whitewater Pearl MazdaSpeed6 was waxed numerous times with carnauba wax, and never took on a yellowish tint. It sounds like an urban legend to me, to help in selling another, higher priced product.
I've yet to see any proof of the paint changing to yellow from the use of carnauba wax.
As for the percentage of wax in a product, it's marketing you're reading, not chemistry. Claims are frequently made to help sell product. Again consider the source.
And, show me a white carnauba tree.......

some manufacture releasing the "white carnauba" is by bleaching (removing yellow color) from the yellow carnauba,, they think it will remove "the bad side" and just have "the good side"... but until now, i dont know what the bad and good side,

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
Thank you both of you
KIOS3R don't worry about your English, I'm not a native English too. ha ha.
Actually I think like you Forrest that carnauba turn white car to yellow shade is just a rumor or urban legend.
But here in Thailand, many of car detailing forum mention about this legend all the time. I mean most of the people here think that yellow carnauba is not suitable for white car -_-".
What about the carnauba wax. What if there's a wax made from carnauba and no others ingredient at all (contain 100% wax only, nothing else), what the result will be if we use such a wax with the car? Would it be sticky? But i imagine that this wax will be a dust sucker. ha ha

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
Carnauba is a very hard wax, and must be blended with other ingredients so it will spread and shine. 100% carnauba is not workable by itself.
The percentage of carnauba in a car wax is meaningless, except for marketing purposes.

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
hmm,, let said "the X wax just contain 100% of (30%) carnauba", i think it'll make your car warmth and deep gloss just like the other carnauba, but dont protecting well and not enough feeding your paint, becouse i have the other brand, they said that the ingredients is : carnauba wax, beeswax, aloe, banana coconut extract, vitamin E, etc. they said the ingredients to make the good durability and good shine too, (and feeding your paint, like a rubbing some body lotion to your skin)
about the sticky or not i dont know, the wax will be dust sucker if only the wax is very oily, all of Mothers line is not oily for me, and wont be a dust sucker,,, ^_^
sir, you'd better trying the reflections wax or FX wax if you still affraid to try the carnauba wax.
or just waxing with mothers yellow carnauba, if your car turning to yellow, you can shipping your car to my house, MUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Everyone is making a similar product and inventing ways to tell everyone their product is different and command a higher price. The longer the explanation - usually higher in price.

And, as far as wax turning a white paint yellow - then why wouldn't a blue car turn green, or a red car turn orange?
The logic and consistency aren't there.

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
Ive seen a white car with a yellowish cast on it , but that was because the person simply waxed over dirt with a pure wax . He never used a cleaner at all . Once he used a cleaner before waxing the paint was much more brighter.

Re: Dose pure wax carnauba(Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
The leaves of the tree that Carnauba Wax comes from are beaten to remove the wax coating from the leaves, in the form of yellowish brown, and hard flakes. These are then processed into a liquid or a paste that can be applied to your paint. To get it to a white colour, they add a bleach.
This image is of unprocessed Carnauba flakes.

Re: Does pure wax carnauba (Step3) affect to the white pearl color???
The thickness of wax left on the paint surface after removing residue is only molecules thick.
At that thickness, even a black wax will look totally transparent with no colour tinting.
Carnauba wax is totally clear after application and removal. No colour tinting. Any other suggestion is total rubbish.
