    Paint Transfer

I`m getting ready to detail a friends car. The cars paint is in good condition and shouldn`t require no more then a mild polish, sealant and wax. I plan on applying all of the products with a PC. There is one little glitch. There is a spot where the car was struck in a parking lot. The incident left a small dent and some paint transfer. My friend understands that I won`t be able to remove the dent, but he wants the paint transfer to be removed. Should I try to remove the paint by hand with polish?, or should I use my PC. Will the dent damage my pads? I want to avoid having to use a stronger polish on the entire car, but I don`t want the damaged area to stick out like a sore thumb after I remove the paint trnasfer. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

If you go ahead and remove the transfered paint by hand you really should not have a problem. When you work by hand you will surely be able to know when you have done just the right amount of polishing to only remove the transfered paint. Remember, don`t get too aggressive. Always start with the least abrasive product first.

    Just my thoughts...

Brake parts cleaner will remove the paint transfer. Then follow up with your sealant or wax over the section

I`ve had good luck removing transferred Paint with a clay bar. It just take some time a 10 inch area took me about 20 Minutes to do; But it sure came out nice and clean.
