Talking Mothers FX Synwax Results - My thanks to the forum

I've been lurking on this forum for the past two weeks looking for advice on which Mothers products to test on my Titanium Silver BMW. I've previously owned only dark cars and was very settled on a couple of carnauba waxes. Now that I have a silver car, I've been finding that the advantage of the car looking cleaner for much longer than a black car, is somewhat offset by the fact that there is a little less reward for intense detailing. What I mean is that the results are usually a lot more apparent on a dark car.

Hence I decided to try a synthetic based wax and see what type of extra shine I could get out of the paint.

Thanks to the posts of many members on this forum I decided to try out SynWax.

I applied Mothers FX SynWax on Saturday around noon and let it sit until Sunday morning.
I have never used any wax that is this easy to remove. Compared to the previous waxes I've used, I'd say 50% less efort.

The product does not leave the same type of slick/slippery feel that you get with carnauba waxes, but the shine is definitely more apparent on a silver car.

This morning I went over the car with FX Sprayway, which again is by far the easiest spray wax I've ever used. Literally as easy as using a regular detail spray. (essentially the same process too)

Now, as always it is really difficult to properly capture the results on a silver car in a photograph, so I tried a few different angles. Hope you can see the results. In person, they are impressive.

From now on, SynWax is my wax of choice!!

Nice ride and work...

FX Synwax and FX Spray Wax are good products. They are my favorites, and I use them both regularly. The ease of use is excellent, and the results are also very good.

Silver is easy to make look good, but its hard to make look great.

Your car looks great.

Good job.

BMW#6.
Nice work.
I'm beginning to really notice what it is that people see in silver cars now.
Also, the treated tyres and those lovely black rims make the silver colour really stand out.

I've never really hesitated over a post, and I'll probably look like a bit of a dill here for even mentioning it at all, but I can't help asking one question, and I'll bet I've just missed something in understanding what you've written.

You mention that you applied the Synwax at noon on Saturday, and then let it sit till Sunday morning. Then you added that the removal was really easy.
I'm sure I'm just misinterpreting what you have said, but if not, the the product should be removed as you're working on each area in work.

See why I'm going to look like a 'dill'.

Still and all, that is one nice Beemer.

Also, it highlights that to get your car looking this good is not a costly nor hugely time consuming thing, nor is it the sole province of some of the expensive commercial auto detailers, proving yet again that the guy in the street can get comparable results by 'DIY'.

Tony.

Hi Tony,
Thanks

I did leave the wax on overnight (about 18 hours), basically out of habit. I beleive that with many carnauba waxes this will allow the wax to bond better to the paint. I just figured that it can't hurt to try the same with the Synwax.

I was concerned that it may make it more difficult to remove the wax, but that was not the case.

I'd be interested to hear what the experts say about leaving the Synwax on longer for better bonding.
Myth or fact???

Thanks guys.
I'm planning to use FX Spraywax weekly after washing.
Would or do you still use a detail spray over the spraywax?

There's no real advantage to waiting hours before removing SynWax. Remove it whenever you like.

I wait long enough to drink one large glass of Arnold Palmer.

Use the Spray Wax weekly after washing. Keep the instant detailer in the trunk in case of bird droppings or bug splats while gassing up.

Pity we don't get Arnold Palmer drinks here

Mix 1/2 iced tea (sweet preferred) and 1/2 lemonade and you'll have your own Arnold Palmer.

Thanks Forrest.
Sounds like a good summer time drink.

In November for my next major detail session, I plan to use Mothers:
Clay Bar
Pre Wax Cleaner
Sealer Glaze
FX SynWax

In the interim, weekly application of FX Spraywax after washing.
