Default New guy here with proof that the powerball mini is worth every penny!!! (56K beware)

This little bugger is sooooo cool.
Background on these rims.
These are my fiance's rims. She has owned this truck for 5 years. The whole truck hadnt been taken care of at all. The only time this truck had been washed is twice a year through a swirl tunnel . The only time the rims had gotten a hand wash is when her ex cleaned them with a scotch brite pad! To top it off she has lived on a dirt road for those 5 years. These rims where sooooo bad, i thought for sure they where done for and there was nothing i would be able to do to save them.
So i bought the powerball mini with the powermetal aluminum polish.
I was blown away to say the least.

Tools and products:

Before, i washed them by hand, yes this is a clean rim!:

After the powerball mini and power metal:

Money well spent!!!

Oh yeah, i have 2 questions to ask.

1. How many uses do you think the powerball can handle? Being nothing more than foam i cant imagine it lasting for very long before it falls apart.

2. Is the power metal aluminum polish supposed to be a milky consistency? Its the concistency of skim milk. Still worked great obviously but is it supposed to be like that?

If used properly, the PowerBall or PowerBall Mini should last you through numerous sets of wheels. Be sure to disassemble and wash thoroughly with soapy water and let it air dry completely before you store it.

The PowerMetal Aluminum polish liquid is fairly liquid to provide the lubrication necessary to work at speeds (though we don't recommend much higher than 1200 rpm). It does need to be shaken.

I noticed you used an electric drill. We do recommend a cordless with its clutch set at about half or 3/4 resistance, but so long as you're careful to not go too fast or press too hard (especially in tight areas, which you don't really have here), electric is okay, and it's recommended to give a little "feathering" to the trigger -- but it looks like you made out fine.

For a wheel like this, you might find that the larger PowerBall might make it go a little faster, but certainly regular maintenance will be much easier than this restoration project.

It sure looks like a job well done!

What do you mean dissasemble? I just wash it in water an dawn dish soap and then let it air dry.

OK, consistency is cool then.

Electric drill is all i own and i can control the RPM easily. If i couldnt control the RPM i wouldnt have used it.

Disassemble: loosen the bit with a 10mm wrench, remove the 4-pronged centering device, retaining washer and set aside. Wash the foam "ball" by itself for best results, and let dry.
