Default Another Scratched Windshield Question

I do very light car cleaning and I am not a detailer. A few days ago I ran across a windshield that was full of what appeared to be cleaning scratches. It actually looked like somebody took sandpaper or rough steel wool to it.

Is there anyway to get these out?

It would need to be polished out with a specialized kit, like the one available from the Eastwood Company.

Considering what a replacement glass can cost, it might be cheaper to just replace it. What make/model of car?

This kit http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?i...emType=PRODUCT would likely handle the problem. But, after the cost of it, shipping and your charge to use it, it may be cheapoer to have a new windshield installed.

I just checked a website that is a nationally known brand, and to replace that windshield is $210.

Honestly, I'd go with a new windshield for that little of a difference.

Of course, I would be worried about someone scratching my vehicle while replacing the windshield.

I agree with Forrest, though. Just find a reputable glass installer.
