Pitted aluminum wheels

We have a Jeep with aftermarket aluminum wheels on it.The became pitted after all the salt used on the roads here in Ohio. Any suggestion on how to get the pitted marks gone and back to orginal appearance.Thanks.

We've been hearing a lot of reports about salt damage on wheels this past winter.

Search in this forum for "salt" and you'll quickly find a few threads that may be helpful.

So long as the wheels aren't painted or clearcoated, and the pits aren't too deep, you should be able to polish a lot of it out with products like our Mag & Aluminum Polish, or one of our PowerBall products with PowerMetal.

You may need some sandpaper in varying grits from about 1000 through 2000, then follow with polish.

If your wheels are painted or clearcoated, try Plastic Polish.
