Ever get one of those cars that come out just ehh?

I did this Accord today and I really expected more. It just looks OK to me rather than spectacular or whatever. What do you guys think?

Question: Did you clay the car before waxing/polishing?

I dont mean to be rude, but the last pic (closeup of the paint) seems to have some impurities on the paint. Maybe its just the fact that this Honda is an old beater/daily driver.

What was your process before applying Collinite 845 Insulator Wax?

Did you clay?
After claying did you polish? If so, what type of polish did you use? Was polish applied by hand or with a PC?

I love 845 Insulator Wax! I buy it by the case directly from Collinite Corporation. It doesn`t have the `pop` that P21S or EX has, but the durability is phenomenal - and is excellent for daily drivers and watercraft.

I`m very much interested in your `pre-wax` process, as I use Collinite quite frequently.......

Yes, I did clay this car. I use the wolfgang stuff (clay and lubricant). Works awesome. The car didnt really need a polish but I did use a pre-wax cleaner which helped a little. I do all my work by hand although I`ve been curious about the PC lately. I feel like the operating margin is higher without the wheel and both produce nearly the same effect. I could be totally wrong about this though.

BTW, the little spots you see in the one pic are grass shavings from someone mowing the lawn. I didnt know they were there when I took the pic. Ya, you would think someone would know better than to mow grass right next to a freshly detailed car.....

I have done Hondas before. The paint on them, especially black, is not very good. Might get better results with an orbital or rotary. I used to do all work by hand, but you get better results with a machine.

I`d say that products that you used where top end, but a PC or rotary is going to make a huge difference on the end results. I felt that hand was the only way until I started to use them, there is no turning back after that!!
