I`ve used some premium washes like Platinum and think they are really nice, but I find it VERY difficult to justify spending more than $10/Gal. for Gold Class at Target. It works well, smells nice, rinses clean and has good lubricating properties. The only other one I use is Z7 when I wash after polishing and prior to applying Z5.

Actually I was wrong, I`m not using gold class - I`m using meguiar`s soft wash gel. At least, I had the right company!! I think I`m going to try something else I can get locally before placing an order - unless I decide I simply must have more MF

The Gold Class is definetely a step up from the soft wash gel, and is usually available locally.

Man ! Sonax went up 4 bucks a bottle? I just finished washing my car with some. I love the stuff but now it`s getting steep. I doubt seriously if Sonax will be my main wash at that rate. I`m going to order 1Z Perls soon just to see how that is. I`ve never tried Glod Class as it`s never on sale when I go to Target and I have others to use up first.

    Rick,

Consider Meguiar`s #62 Professional Car Wash. It`s around $20-$23 a gallon. Very close to the Sonax. I may switch too it when my Sonax runs out................ unless something else comes along before then.

I like Meg`s #62, but ever since NXT came out...I`ve been using NXT. Good lubercaton and great sheeting action...

Also like Griots Wash and Pinnacle..

    Rick,

Yea.................. guess I`ll have to try it. I`ve heard that some people still prefer the #62 to the NXT wash, and I know how good the #62 is, so I haven`t been tempted to try the NXT. However, for the price, it`s worth a shot!

    Rick,

Don`t like the #00 as well as the #62............... #62 is better priced too!

Gold class and #00 High tech wash is all I ever need to use. Unless you have a show car, I don`t see any need for the high-end washes. Mid-grade is perfectly adequate for me.

From reading the Autopia web site - I think the Sonax price jump may be temporary. Seems like there is a distributor change in the works and Autopia paid a premium to get the old distributors remaining stock. It`s a good story on their part at the very least!
