Is it a good idea to hit the paint with some UGE before applying the 2nd layer or is it better to just use the UPP?

I just apply the UPP ... as of yesterday 3 coats.
I am stopping there cause between 2 and 3 there was only the slightest improvement.

Yeah I am gonna put my 2nd on tomorrow then probably 3rd next saturday then top it with Trade Secret next sunday.
Did you see a big difference between 1 and 2?
Yes I did and I have in the past.
I have started applying my second and third coats with a PC and that really spreads the product thin.

Before putting another layer of UPP on my car I washed it. Haven`t tried UGE yet.
"I`m staying out of it."
It is likely your question refers to applying the UPP on a clean surface. If it is still clean, then IMO the UGE isn`t necessary.
If the vehicle stayed in the garage until the second coat, then all I did was apply and remove the UPP.
When I have had to drive it between coats, I either used UGE, S&W, or washed it. Depended on how dirty I felt it was.
What usually happens is that the second coat won`t get applied until the next wash because of using the van so much.

I applied my third coat of UPP Friday, March 26 and it looks fantastic. I did as Kim and applied it with the PC. Before applying, I use QD to remove the dust because it was not dirty, only dusty.
TQB,
Knowing that your truck is a daily driver, I would wash, and/or Spray & Wipe, and do the UGE thing before adding another coat of UPP. There`s nothing wrong with making "extra" sure that the paint surface/previous coating is as clean as possilble.
