Many of the shops in my area go with the term Auto Reconditioning. In my production shop days, the term Detailing was associated with removing overspray, cleaning up a bit & pinstriping after a paint job.
When I use the term detailing with people my age & older, I get,
"Oh, you do pinstripes"
"Um, I can, but that`s not what I`m into."
"Oh."
Then I switch to reconditioning, they know what I`m speaking of.
Now, the local car dealerships advertise in help wanted ads for auto detailers to clean up used cars.
I`m baffled.
What have I missed, what have I forgotten?
Can any of you folks straighten me out here?
I`m working on getting fliers made up but cannot decide what I should go with. Rob`s Auto Recon, Rob`s Auto Detailing or Rob`s Recon/Detailing. Again .....
Thanks for your time in advance here,
Rob
