    Splatter victim, HELP!!!

prior to doing this car, i thought that these little specs were just stuff little peices of extra polish coming off after i buffed, however ive learned otherwise. im not sure what im donig wrong, but im getting splatter, and its really annoying. either im going too fast, or im using too much product, or both. with DACP im going at 3.5, and with ssr1 im going at 5. as for product use, i try to make an x, not too big. what do you guys do? heres a pic of splatter

Once you make the "X", do you smear it around with the motor off first, or do you just pt it on the paint and let `er rip? If the latter, try smearing it around first. That should help. With alot of products, more is not better, you just end up wasting it by laying it on too thick, which also makes buffing it off harder for you. Truly a lose/lose situation. If you`re worried about not getting enough coverage, try a section with a little bit, then buff off. If the results are good, well then, there you have it.
Also, from what I remember, both SSR1 and DACP have diminishing abrasives, so to get the best results, you`d be better off using a little and working it for a longer while, as the particles would still be too big if you were to just quickly rub on and wipe off. Kind of like sanding with 1000 grit paper then not going to the 2000. You`d end up with a "less pretty" result.

    Boy, that brings back memories...
There is a technque to lower the splatter and it does work, but I always have a little splatter now and then that I QD off......
    1. Try to use less product
    2. Mush the product around on the paint
    3. Angle the pad to scoop the product lift the left side of the pad and go after the product , then work it. The product goes toward the middle of the pad instead of all around

Your clothes must be a mess too...

No it shouldn`t since you have smeared it on the paint. It should be picked up and you can buff

When I first started using the PC, I did get splatter.

Couple things dude (in reference to your other thread):
    1) use less product. DACP is very liquidy

    2) spread product before turning on. When you do turn on, start at 2

    3) DACP needs to be worked in at 5-6 to work properly. At 3, your just moving it around. That is why it was a Pain in the kicker to get off

    4) SSR1--try it at 4-4.5 next time for even better shine!

    5) take plenty of pictures and smile at some good work

    6) keep saving money

    7) get a new avatar and signature!!

    8) keep learning and spending time here on DC

shes maria sharapova, like one of the top tennis players, and shes only 17... the differnce between her and anna is..
    1. shes taller
    2. shes smart
    3. she doenst pose for sports illustrated swimsuit magazine (not necessaryly a bad thing)
    4. she wins
    5. she wins
    6. she wins
    7. she screams when she hits the ball (gets annoying at times)

has anyone else noticed that anna`s put on some weight after she stopped playing tennis seriously?

ah, and about that jasmine thing, good point. maybe i can go get a hot chick to post of these forums a lot... hmmm, now who would do such a thing..... maybe it would be a better idea if i walked around with my digital camera and took pictures of girls that i see at the beach, but i mite get the ```` beaten out of me......

Ah, I know exactly who you are talking about now. She can definitely play better than Anna, but no where near the beauty!

Good point Zesty, I don`t think I could bear to see a Hawaiian thong here on DC. :drool I just think it would erase the images of The Great Whaler I am so dear to. :hurl :doh

As for sex appeal, maybe you should talk to Fuzz. :dunno :rockin :crazy
