The max you can cut off is about 13mm, I cut 11mm to be sure the PC adapter still goes on (cut just before the "P" in PATENT). The PC adapter then doesn`t thread all the way in, I tried to chase it with a 5/8"x11UNC tap but the pic shows it still doesn`t screw all the way in. I then used the Loctite to attach them.
I *think* it may have helped the "wobble" a bit, it was only 11mm though. Seems like all speeds up to 5.5 are acceptable to me. I bought these gloves to help with some on the PC vibration in case anyone is interested, they seem to help:

I also tried a 5", 6" and piggyback (both on top of each other with long screws)
The piggyback combo was worst by a little bit. 5" and 6" seemed about the same so I`m going to stick with the 6" weight. I still believe the 6" counterweight is fine, it`s the pad distance from the PC head that causes the wobbling. By wobbling I mean if you just barely hold the PC while polishing it will gyrate back and forth a good bit. I just bought a rotary so anything more than PC on 5.5 will be rotary work for me.
Just though I`d share my experimentations......
Can someone at The Edge please look into an even shorter adapter??? I`d be willing to try it out for you ...
With all this being said, I just bought 4 more 2kDA pads yesterday.
