Just starting my detail business and looking for a portable water tank...please help with suggestions on where to purchase! Also, what size would you recommend? Do you have to order online? Thanks!!

Northern Tools have a decent collection of tanks. Size depends on personal preferance and how you will utilize it. I personally use a 100 gallon tank on a Chevy S10 long bed pick up.:welcome to Detail City.

Just getting started in Raleigh, NC... still shopping for tanks. Looks like most mobile detail systems use 100 gallon, had a sales person try to sell a 200 gallon tank though. Is 100 gallon enough? How many cars can you do with 100 gallon?

hey nice to hear from someone from Raleigh, I am from Charlotte. If you need something "portable" go with 100 gallon 1 gallon is what 8 pounds, so 800 for 100 gallon tank. I use 5X8 cargo trailer which can hold 2000 pounds and it is definately noticeable when the tank is full. Also if you have pressure washer read how many gpm on it mine is 2.5 (100/2.5= 40 minute of constant water supply).

    Direct Manufacturers...

Here are two links that could be of use...

    U. S. Plastics - look for "Linear Low Density Polyethylene Flat Bottom Utility Tanks"

Chem-Tainer - look for "Transport Tanks"

I like the dr_detail idea, but the only thing is the cost of shipping is to much.
