Heavy cutting pad or more abrasive product?

Do you guys recommend using a more aggresive pad with a lesser abrassive product to get the job done or an abrasive product with a less aggressive pad??? Such as SSR 1 with a red megs pad or SSR 2.5 with a yellow pad?

You`ll tear a finish up with SSR1 and a cutting pad, simply because the cutting pad will do more marring than normal. You would be creating more work for yourself with mediocre results. SSR2 or 2.5 with a polishing pad is a great start. Step it down with SSR1 on a polishing pad, then top with your favorite.

I definitely recommend letting the PRODUCT do the work and NOT the pad.
