Detailed an old school 1965 GMC

I don`t know if I was working slow or not, but it took me about 8 hours to clean up the outside. I only spent about 30 minutes on the interior. I poliished the metal parts with Mother`s and polished the bumpers with PB PP. I used PB PP on the body which was great at removing the oxidation. I then put on a coat of EX-P. I wasn`t sure if I wanted to use EX or EX-P, so I tried both and the EX-P went on better than the EX.

I have to go back today to finish the roof. I would imagine this has more paint to it than a large suburban seeing how there are no windown on the sides.

Both of these cars have been repainted sometime in the last 10 years with single stage paints. Unfortunately, the polishing pad I used and a bunch of microfibers are now green! I`m not sure how I would handle a classic with original paint. I`m assuming a classic would have a single stage paint as well and using something like PP would work, not sure though.

wow that`s nice I love those old vans ..just don`t like driving them ...

yeah the price of doing single stage or laquer is that your towels and pads may never clean up entirely, but that should be factored into the price...yes PP will work fine on single stage paint as will PwC...
the SSR`s should only be used in more extreme cases...it`s basically chemical vs mechanical polishing
life is short ..do it while you can

    The Munsters?

No silly, they belong to my wife`s grandparents. They don`t even drive them anymore and I think they`re going to sell them soon.

Not sure. I would suspect book value, but I could be wrong. According to the NADA book descriptions I would say the truck is in between low and average condition - the paint anyway. Not sure about the engine and how it runs. They recently spent a bunch of money on the car. I could find out more info if you`d like.
