    Makita 9227 Group Buy

    Hello all,

I started this post because there are several of us who are interested in buying a rotary. This group buy is for the Makita 9227, not for any other. I am not interested in the Dewalt because I have done 2 cars with it, and it is a lug. I personally like the bail handle and the weight, so please do not suggest it.

Please put all offers here on the table. Currently, Premium Auto Care has it at $200 but we get 10% off and free shipping, so it`s at $180 shipped.

Coastal Tool is at $179 + $15 shipping, so they aren`t better.

I`d like to spend about a month maximum on this. Hopefully when Dwayne gets back, he might be able to offer us something if we can get more than 5 to bite the bullet~~

I also wouldn`t mind getting at least 1 wool pad from Edge. Actually a 2 sided wool would be nice, and the Edge 2000 system is a must!!

    Makita 9227 on Premium

Most internet stores seem to have this model priced around $199.95. I have found a few that sell for less (e.g. Tool King $179.99 and My Tool Store $169.95), but shipping takes the cost beyond $180. The only place I`ve found cheaper is All Pro Tools @ $170.90 + shipping. For my zip code, it would save me a whopping 4 cents compared to PAC`s pricing.

Hey Nick! How about a group buy for Edge2000 pads?

I got mine from Coastal Tools. Believe mine`s going on a little over three years old. It`s a great rotary for all the end up with one.

I have 2 9227`s so I can`t be in on this, BUT, If Dwayne can get a "quantity" order, that price on PAC have may come down..........

Edge2000 pads for DA or rotary? I`m in. Lets get a general look. Maybe Dwayne will want to have a big sale @ PAC

I was talking about the E2K pads for the Makita rotary.

    Thumbs up

I`d be interested in this . I like the 9227c myself , that handle in alot better then the straight bar. I did alittle price surfin. I found a deal with quanity discount on 4 machines @$599.99 ( $149.99 each) Maybe if we come up with more we`ll get a better deal ? Let`s see how many are interested.

Jerry For some reason the direct link doesn`t work . Do a search for it MaxTool

I was thinking just a pure package price. Definitely the Edge adaptor, but the only reason why I said for the 1 wool pad is for a little more cutting. I would be satisfied going with ALL Edge 2000`s though.

Now we need to determine what pads/combo`s we would like. I really like the Yellow/Blue pad I have because that`s a cutting a polishing on one pad. What`s y`alls take on it?

That is a good price Rollman. Let`s first see what Dwayne could do with an Edge Package for 5+. The pads and adaptor really add up too, but that is a sweet deal. I wonder what shipping would be on that?

UPS gorund shipping to Phila on 4 units is $35.42.

Myself I would like Edge 2000 foam pads with QD . Not really looking for wool although I might try a combo wool/foam. I tried the form pads on the Rotory when I visited Aaron and really like the result. Aarons wool pads are real sweet , they have the built in wear indicator plus I beleive they`re the only ones to offer Wool in 5 texture grades.

I already have enough E2K connectors, so I just need pads (and the rotary of course). Don`t forget that Dwayne is currently running the "buy 2 E2K pads, get a connector free" deal.

A foam green/blue combo would be my first choice. Yellow/blue would be my second choice, followed by yellow/green.
