Question Best Option for Upkeep at a Scooter Rental Store

Hello waxforum.

My name is Vincent, this is my first post here.
I operate several 50cc scooter rental shops in New Mexico. Our vehicles see the worst of the worst on a daily basis, and even brand new bikes quickly show their wear.

My questions are...

What are some good options for :
  • Giving new bikes a good surface treatment on their glossy painted body panels
  • Turning some of the matte black panels glossy
  • Maintaining a good appearance on all panels with, at most, a weekly touch-up of some sort

I've included some photos of our vehicles, in case it helps.

Thanks guys, I know this is the best place to get some good input.

Default Re: Best Option for Upkeep at a Scooter Rental Store

Welcome to waxforum.com. Interesting business you have. We rented scooters when we on Martha's Vineyard a few summers ago.

For the painted areas of your scooters, I'd suggest you apply a coat of wax to them right away - you can use either 05701 California Gold Brazilian Carnauba Cleaner Wax - Liquid or 05716 California Gold Synthetic Wax - Liquid. Since washing may or may not be possible, use an instant detailer like our 08216 California Gold Showtime to spray and wipe the dust away daily. Once a week I'd also use 05724 California Gold Spray Wax on the painted areas you waxed.

Plan on waxing them once every 4-6 weeks to keep them looking good. It can't take 5-10 minutes to wax the painted panels on a scooter.

Our 06108 Back-to-Black would be a great product for all the black trim, but since it can make surfaces slippery, you wouldn't want to use in on foot or hand grips, or the cross-though area where feet go.

For the seat, 06524 VLR Dressing would be your best bet.

The headlight can be maintained with 06208 Plastic Polish once a month or so, to keep it clear.

I think I covered all the areas.
