Default Will California Gold® Chrome Polish damage paint?

My vehicle has a good deal of chrome trim that borders painted surfaces (chrome grill, along the top of door panel where window starts). The chrome trim is fairly narrow and while I will try to keep the chrome polish off bordering painted surfaces it will be near impossible to prevent a small amount from getting on the paint. I am curious/concerned if chrome polish would effect the paint in anyway.

Any feedback advice is appreciated - thanks !

If it's a newer vehicle, most of the areas you mentioned are plastic (grill) or anodized aluminum or stainless (window trim).

What year and type of car? Have any pics of the areas you're referring to?

The plastic with chrome film vacuum formed to it would be better served with a product like a spray wax instead of an abrasive polish, and anodized aluminum should not be polished with an abrasive, lest the abrasive remove the anodizing.

And, welcome to waxforum.

It's pretty new - 2012 Lincoln MKX - so I'm guessing that it's not chrome then.

Attached are pics of the grill, window trim and lower trim.

Assuming- I used the chrome polish, how would I know which material it is was and is there any chance it will damage the surrounding paint?

Again thank you

I would simply recommend our California Gold Synthetic Wax on the paint as well as the bright trim. Spray Wax to maintain all the same surfaces after a wash.
