    #7 substitute

Ok, i have used #7 a few times and i really like the results, however it is pretty time consuming and i would rather use a product that is not so labor intensive? any suggestions on a product with similar results but less time?. ANd I am currently using a pc but looking into purchasing a rotary.

I use Meg`s #3 Machine glaze and love it.
It adds a lot of depth and wetness to the finish as well as polishig out and filling minor swirls.
I apply it with a rotary and then wipe it off with a MF.
I think you can use it with a PC also but I don`t know what the results might be.

The #7 is very good at hiding some swirls. So, if you are using the #7 to hide swirls, you`ll probably need another glaze with fillers, and lots of oils. However, if you`re using the #7 simply for the gloss, and darker appearance, you could use any wax/sealant that gives you that look. I kind of use Trade Secret to replace a glaze on a finish in good condition. It darkens, adds gloss/shine and depth........... like a glaze............ and has the added benefit of proteting the finish! Of course, that`s on finishes where I want that type of appearance.

I prefer to use Auto Magic BC-2.

I believe it`s worth giving a try... you will not be disappointed.

I used to use AM BC-1 followed by BC-2 all the time. I topped it with EZ Paste Wax. The only reason I had to change was the distributor just stopped showing up.

Meguiar`s #81 Hand Polish is supposed to give the same results and do it much easier. I have never tried it, though.

From what I read on showcargarage.com...#81 is better on clear coats, as it`s a newer formula than #7. I agree...I only use #7 with single stage paints...and for that, I love it.

VM is very easy and gives better results than #7 IMO.

Auto Magic bc1 and bc2 are great so is vm. Eagle 1 in their pro. line has one called cleaner n glaze also very good . If you are going to do this by hand I would use Mothers Sealer and Glaze ( step 2 )
