    Smearing

This is long, you have been warned.

    Problem:

I made a small mistake yesterday. I had a 3 horu time crunch in which to wash, wax, and detail my car. And I made a major mistake. I went to wax the car, applied the wax, and stepped back to see how it was bonding and cross-linking. But something did not look right. So I went to the first panel and looked at from an angle, and the wax was not applying. So i buffed the area really quick with a terry twoel, only to watch the wax smear. I ran to get a digital laser temperature gauge (those thingys are fun) and I check the temp of the paint...160 degrees farenheit. I immedately try to buff the wax off on the car, but to no avail, it just smeered everywhere.

In my dismay, I just cleaned the windows off, not paying attention whatsoever. When I get done, I realize the windows are just as hot as the paint. And I watched the glass cleaner quite litterally burn onto the windows.

    Answer:

I went out today, and my hard work in the past has paied off. The multiple layers of polish below the wax that I put on yesterday made it very easy to buff in the remainder of the smeared wax. Also note that the car was in the shade, at a comfortable 75 degrees. As for the windows, that all evaportated off, and the rest came off with a bit more window cleaning.

    Fun times.

I am seriously considering buying a full line up of Poorboy`s products. And then use Eimann Fabrik for my engine and the carpet, then use Lexol for my vinyl and leather (303 is damned expensive, and takes too much work).
