    Cleaning glass with newspaper...

Does anyone here use newspaper (and either water or glass cleaner) to clean your windows? I have heard that the ink on the newspaper actually acts as a polish on the glass. I used the newspaper and water in a spray bottle to clean my glass. It seemed to have scratched the hell out of my windows and mirrors. They could have been there before (and I just never noticed them), but I`m not sure. Can newspaper scratch your glass?

I use a microfiber towel for glass. I never liked the newspaper idea.

I tried the newspaper idea once and hated it. Plus, the ink can run and end up on your dash, seats, or carpet.

Yeah newspaper sucks! Just wash with rest of car and dry with a good MF and you`re set. Hit the inside with a slightly damp MF and follow with a dry one.

I think with MF being used so widely and the great results it produces, there is little reason to use anything else for cleaning windows.
I still don`t believe in grit guards.

Just add some Stoners Invisible Glass and you will have perfect windows without having black ink all over the place.

Stoner`s suggests newspaper on the back on the can. Personally i get better results with newspaper, never see any black ink.

Black and white newspaper pages work well for me. The color pages will run.

Newspaper ink used to contain a product that proved to be carcinogenic. I am having a senior`s moment and can`t remember the name of it (it was also used extensively in electrical machines like transformers and capacitors). It has been banned.

Newspaper ink, no longer containing this nasty component, has lost it`s ability to clean glass like it used to in your father`s and grandfather`s age.

Stick with microfiber (uF - uF; see that everyone, I`m not giving up on this one!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Newspaper contains black ink that is made of small particles. These small particles act to "polish" the window. If you google india ink, NASA, and aluminum, you will find NASA`s method used to polish aluminum to a high mirror finish.

I used newspaper last week at the beach. I brought glass cleaner but no towels. The newspaper worked pretty good, but the glass cleaner caused the ink to come off on my hands.
