    Question Meg`s SMR problems

I`ve been using Megs #9 S.M.R for a short time and I have found that I am not getting all of the swirls out. I am putting it on by hand and taking it off with a MF....I really hope you guys can help me out cause those swirls are starting to piss me off, its almost like they are taunting me

#9 is a pretty mild polish/smr. It is possible that the marring you`re trying to remove is just too deep for #9 to tackle. If you are applying the product with a foam applicator try swithing to a damp (not wet) cotton terry applicator and apply in straight back and forth motions (not circular). If the cotton terry applicator with #9 doesn`t make a noticeable improvement it may just be time to move onto a product with a little more bite.

    Good luck.

If you are working by hand forget the 3M SMR.

Using a PC or similar machine will probably yeild much better results when working a SMR than by hand. It can be tough when going at it manually.

No doubt! I find that #9 is just VERY mild, with some swirls you are just going to have to step up to something a litle stronger. Good luck.

Rookie - I just cannot tell you the difference between working by hand and with a PC. Light years apart. I know that people have achieved show car finishes by hand for years, but with a PC you will be getting the best results of your life quickly and safely. #9 is not that abrasive, but you can get beautiful results with #9 and a PC - far better than by hand. You really can`t use agressive polishes by hand because you can`t break down the abrasives. Just bite the bullet and do it - your detailing life will change, I guarantee.
