Default Getting Brake Dust off of Aluminum rims without scratching them

Just bought some aluminum rims - not clear coated. I want to get the break dust off. Can a micro-fiber cloth be used to wipe them off without scratching them? If not, what is the best way to do this?

If it's light brake dust, some Wheel Mist All Wheel and a wheel brush would work.

Get some pics if you can.

Welcome to Wax Forum!

Mothers Wheel Mist All Wheel or Mothers FX Wheel Cleaner both are a spray-on, hose-off cleaner safe for all wheel finishes when used as directed. Sometimes a gentle wash mitt (dedicated to wheels) or wheel brush can be helpful, depending on just how dirty they are. Rinse with a car wash solution and again with water.

For "dusting," our Showtime Instant Detailer or FX Spray Wax will often do the job. Spray a little on the surface, and some on a plush microfiber towel and wipe lightly.

FX Spray Wax is recommended after a polishing or a wash for a little extra protection.

x2 on the FX Spray Wax, brake dust almost doesn't stick.
