    Charging............?

Seems like the average in the area where I live is, about $125.00 - $150.00 for a full detail....Just wondering what you charge in the event if someone just WANTSan exterior or interior detail ONLY, & not a full....?
If you have suggestions for this on both car & suv/trucks I`d appreciate it, thanks...

Here`s what I used to determine my pricing....

I have visited many of web sites and came across it on accident...
it was a survey givin out to detailers all across the US. I used it as a tool and adjusted it to be competitive in my area to other shops..

    Upholstery prot $58.40
    Paint Sealant $97.88
    Pinstriping $43.17
    Hand wax $36.72
    Machine wax/buff $61.92
    Upholstery Cleaning $31.10
    Leather cleaning and conditioning $20.25

    Complete detailing $140.00
    Interior only $65.00
    exterior only $80.00

Keep in mind these are national AVG`s back in 2001 not 2003

    hope this helps..

I don`t charge any extra for claying. I like to exceed the customers expectations so they will be a repeat customer. I only do this part time myself for now. but I want these customers to be there when the business gets going to full time..

    Silver B,

I try to avoid listing a flat rate. I use a price range based on vehicle size and condition. IF all things are equal, the person with a VW Beetle should not have to pay the same price as the person with a Suburban when we know the Suburban will take alot more time to complete. You will also use more supplies to complete the Suburban and should be compensated for that as well.

    JMHO.....

I didn`t come up with the prices.. the numbers shown are a national avg that detailers around the US. price there services at. If you want the full survey it is posted at automotivedetailing.com just go to the part that says detailing survey 2000... PS it also lists the prices of mobile units as well.. some good info...
