this product has been around for a long time & it`s pretty inexpensive but i`ve never used it. does anybody here use it? does it have any abrasives in it? any comments about it`s use? does it really last a year like advertised?

I used it years ago.
1. it did a decent job
2. it was a PITA to remove and created a lot of dust
3. it did NOT last a year
They may have changed the formula since I have used it ... As far as I am concerned there is not a product on the market that lasts a year.
If you want a decent easy to use off the shelf product, try Meguiars NXT wax. It is actually a sealant but does a nice job for a one step product.

I too used it years ago (the late 80`s early 90`s). I tried to put it on every couple months. I remember it left dust and I did not leave it my van for any period of time. It was a bear to get off if you did not immediately wipe it off. I have no idea how it is today.

Tried it years ago and found it difficult to remove. I know people that still use it because of cost and claims of durability. They of course, hate to clean their cars so they figure a once a year product is perfect for them.
BTW - What ever happended to the sealant/wax that was sold on infomercials, where the host would set the car on fire to prove durability?
Are you talking about AURI or Liquid Lustre?

I think it was Auri. All I can remember is the hyper English guy. Are either still made, and are they any good?Originally posted by rabbi

Yes they`re still available. I looked them up on the net. My cousin loves Liquid Lustre. He just got a bottle at a state fair or car show in Oklahoma. Mr. Hyper did the Auri informercials. There`s Auri Car Wax, Auri Gold and Auri Colorcote. As for being good? I liked Nu Finish better. Both Auri and Liquid Lustre were a pain to get off. I was doing a black and silver van at the time. It was the prettiest vehicle I`ve ever owned. It was a full size conversion van . Trans Aire did the package. It was a monster to clean but I/we loved that thing.
