    Need recommendations

I am getting a new car with red metallic paint. Very deep red, almost maroon.

When I was younger I used to use Zaino but now with a 15 month old daughter, I just don`t have as much time to devote to my cars so I`m looking for recommendations for methods and products to use for the initial detail and on-going maintenance.

    Wash
    Clay
    Cleaner
    Sealant
    Wax
    Tire and Wheels

Since the kid, I`ve not kept up with the dizzying array of products available today.

Meguiar`s NXT might be a good suggestion. Its a great one step sealant that will keep your car looking good. Their Spray Wax is really an incredible product too. That would help keep on top of the shine. Its not just a quick detailer. It is a true spray wax. Its not like any other `spray wax` that I`ve ever used.

I know what its like to not have the time anymore. I`ve got a 5 month old and he has taken up a lot more time than I thought he would. I`m still trying to stick to what I know works. I just end up letting it go a little longer between washes than I used to. Its just a matter of juggling the time better I guess.

The link in my signature right below might help a little. I`m sure its not anthing you aren`t already familiar with, but its the best advice I have to offer as far as products and process goes.

Thanks Jngrbrdman - I like your guide, it`s good review !

    Does this sound right?

    Initial Detail -

    Wash, Clay, Wash, AIO, NXT

    Maintenance -

Wash, NXT Spray Wax and redo initial every 6 months

Im going to throw my 2`s
After you get the swirls and light scratches out........
    Klasse AIO,
    then
Poorboys EX, or 4 Stars UPP

if you want you can top these with a Wax, Souvran , S100, Natty`;s wax are great...
then all you have to do is wash with Meguiars or 4 Stars shampoo, quick detailer maybe and you good for a few few months, you may want to do a second coat..

    Jeff,

    What do you prefer ?

Adding add`l coats of UPP or top the UPP with a wax ? I`m thinking that if I do your method, I would do AIO, UPP and then Liquid Souveran.

What QD would you recommend ?

I would wait 24 to 48 hours to add another layer, then wait another 24 to 48 hours to add the wax.
I use 4 Stars Qd for vehicles I use Ex and 4 stars UPP, and Meguiars QD for wax`d vehicles..
I don;t use Liquid souvran, i use Pinnacle Souvran paste wax...

I am a big fan of 4* UPP on top of AIO ...
Meguiars Nxt also looks really good on some darker colors ... if you go the NXT route, skip the AIO because NXT already does a little cleaning on its own.
NXT is one of those products that actually looks better a day or two after you put it on.
I have not used the NXT Spray wax but after a wash I use Meguiars Final Detail and it looks great.
Good Luck with your new car!
