    Dealer installed swirls

Been trying to get the swirls out of my black G35. Tried Menzerna FP, 3M SMR and Megs #9. The swirls are still quite noticeable in directly sunlight. Any advice? Hopefully the pic will attach to this post, but if not, please bear with me.

Where they an added option? How much did they cost you?
Just kidding, anyways, welcome to super-anal OCD world of detailing!
BTW- Did you do this by hand or with a machine?

Rule #1: Never let a dealership touch your car... EVER! This is the result everytime. Now wait all, I know some of you are dealership detailers, but you are the minority in this case. Just let me or anyone else refusing a rag sanding of our clearcoats that you actually know what you`re doing.

Anyways, that 3M product and the Meg`s product are both swirl fillers which attempt to fill and cover up swirls. They help but like us, you probably want them gone. I would recommend Meg`s Dual Action Cleaner Polish (works well with orbital buffer or rotary) or if you want to use 3M`s stuff Perfect It II or Finesse It II (I`d try Finesse It first).

However- I think you would be VERY happy with your results if you tried Poorboy`s SSR2 followed by his Pro Polish. Post a follow up letting us know what you did and how it turned out. Also, great pics you really demonstrated the swirls!

I spoke too soon! Here is a sample of what you have exactly and the pics of the results achieved with Poorboy`s SSR2.

Thanks for the advice and the link. Too bad I didn`t see this forum before I got the car, but I saw it early enough to not take it back for more.

I do have a PC and have used it on the car. May have had it too low, or didn`t work the product enough.

Certainly impressive what SSR2 can do. It may take me a while to get SSR2, but once I get it and try it, I`ll post pics. I do have DACP so I may try that first. I was a little afraid to use DACP on my new car, but if DACP is similar to SSR2, looks like it won`t be a problem.

SSR2 is a step lower than DACP, while the new developing SSR2.5 is almost, if not same, as DACP in terms of abrasiveness. I here the 2.5 gives a nice gloss and easy to work with. Another product! :-p
