Doing a red car this weekend....how does this sound?

    Dawn
    Clay
SSR1 (its a new car in great condition, doesnt need anything more abrasive)
    WG polish enhancer
    Vanilla Moose
    WG sealant

The car is garaged and barely driven, so i dont feel the need for a carnuba topper.

How does this plan sound? Should I take out the VM or keep it?

I wouldn`t sandwich VM in between WG`s precleaner and sealant.

VM is an "oily" glaze that may effect the WG sealant`s ability to bond.

    gotcha
    thanks.

For future reference...what SHOULD I use VM after? (assuming im using Carnuba moose wax after VM)
Should I use it after SSR1? AIO? Maybe WG polish enhancer W/O the WG sealant afterwards, Moose cleaner/wax? These are the only products I have that I can think of that would work before VM

Skip the dawn. As Mr. Ornosco says, "Leave the Dawn in the kitchen where it belongs."

Get a real car wash and use that, you will find the suds to not only be more rewarding (and your hands less dry). But you will also find the paint being left looking better when you are finished.

    skip the dawn?
I always begin my details with a small amount of Dawn with a lot of water in a bucket. I thought most people started this way?
I know Dawn should never be used on cars, except for the initial detail you do on a customers car to get rid off all possible grime, tar, old wax, etc in order to get the paint as clean as possible

You shouldn`t need to use dawn if you wash with a car soap, clay and then use a polish. Those steps should remove any contaminants or existing layers of wax.

Like the others the VM should be skiped, and after the WG sealant is removed I`d top with a good quality carnuba paste wax. I did a sliver corvette over the weekend that I had used the WG product on the week before, after the wash I topped with a new paste wax that I got and the pop from the silver was over the top. Its the best that I have ever seen silver look.

I`ve used the WG`s paint enhancer and then followed up with the sealant on a red car and truck for that matter and it looked really good. I topped the car with liquid souveran and then a coat of trade secret for a neet look. Good reflection but a warmer, softer look than the straight 4 coats of trade secret I topped the WG`s sealant with on the truck.

If durability is an issue with you then I`d skip the VM. If not do 1/2 a hood with VM and the sealant and the other 1/2 without the VM and see how you like the look. The only time I`m concerned about durability is in the winter.:miss Whaler.
