    Mildew

Has anyone ever seen mold/mildew inside the window panel. There`s a customer with a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country and she has mold/mildew inside the window panel on the drivers side door. Of course this creates a terrible odor in 95 degree heat.

Does anyone know if this can be eliminated without taking the door apart? I have chemicals to kill the fungus but I guess I`m worried about getting all of the fungus and whether the chemical will begin to cause smearing on the windows as they`re rolled up/down.

    Thanks...

    Ringo,

If the fungus is in the door panel, it is unlikely you will be able to get at it without taking the door panel off. Without seeing the totality of the mold, hard to say, but my guess is to plan on taking the door panel off. Taking the door panel off may not be a big deal. I am unfamiliar with the door panel of the 2002 models but have taken others off inthe past. If you have questions, run it by a dealership and have them help, might be surprised at the willingness of some delaerships to be good neighbors.

A 2002 still should be under warranty, have the customer check with the dealer service department about a replacement. Also, check out a boating store, they have stuff for mold and mildew.

The bigger question you should be asking is how did that mildew get there and how can you keep it from returning???
Is there a bad seal perhaps???
If it`s an 02, I would suggest going the warranty route to get it fixed ALL the way.
    Just my thoughts.

She took it back to the dealer yesterday and there`s a felt liner on the top inner portion of the window channel. The dealer is going to replace so that should take care of the problem.

    Thanks......
