Default BMW LCD Navigation Screen

The navigation screen on my M3 appears to have several scratches on it. Will the plastic polish remove them?

Thanks
Paul

I'm anxious to hear the experiences of others, and I don't know what that surface looks like exactly in your BMW M3, but I would be cautious ... any polish might make the scratched area smoother and shinier than the surrounding "non-glare" area, so the results might not be what you're looking for.

I'd try a little area first, and go from there.

Jim brings up an excellent point - most navigation and DVD screens in vehicles are a matte finish, not a smooth shiny one.

Using Plastic Polish would likely change the finish.

I wouldn't risk trying Plastic Polish on your M3's navigation screen. It could alter, or even remove the non-glare coating.

Ken:

Do you have any other suggestions for the scratched Nav. screen?

Thanks
Paul

I did some research concerning laptop computer screens, which have a similar surface. I couldn't find any products that remove scratches from non-glare LCD screens. However, their are tons of repair shops that replace scratched and damaged laptop computer displays.

I'm sorry to say that the likely solution is to have a new screen installed. I would ask your local BMW dealer, as well as phone a reputable car stereo installer. They deal with non-glare LCD TV screens all the time.

Please let us know what you find out.
