    upholstery and carpet brushes

Need recommendations on carpet and upholstery brushes used for cleaning vehicles. I bought a squarish brush with a handle that was labeled upholstery. It has almost horse-hair looking (kinda like a shoe shine brush), dark bristles. Is this what is used for cloth seats and carpets? I don`t want to marr or fuzz up my interior.
