    Detail...........a PLANE?!

The customer of mine who`s 360 Modena I just did has asked me if I would be interested in detailing his plane! Now, I havent seen it so I cannot provide a pic but I know that it is all aluminum/magnesium with paint/clearcoat and stainless steel props. Its used for recreation so its not a private jet or anything big sizewize. So my question is has anyone here detailed a plane before and are there any things I should consider. I`ll get some pics as soon as I see it. THanks in advance DC

    Hey,

Think of it as a car that flyes! You WILL need a machine for that job plus a tall ladder to get to the top of the wings and lots of product. I``m sure Poorboys will work fine.
Let us know how it turns out!

Yes, I have detailed a few small planes over the years. Here are a few things to keep in mind. Working under the wings is not an easy job. Also, the engine exhaust usually exits under the plane causing the bottom of the plane to become very dirty, greasy and oily. Not a pleasant site. It`s a cool job, however it is very important to make sure you`ve got the job priced right. You could be spending a lot more time than you first thought. Most of all have fun and take lots of pictures too.

I have a customer that has 2 planes that I have detailed before. Nothing too hard. I agree with Frank, be sure to price it right! I learned the hard way the first I detailed one.

Thanks for the link. Good job on that plane BTW. Any general thoughts on the inside of planes?
