    fresh paint

hey guys, I put a post on here not too long ago asking how to restore the finish to my 96 I30 and remove the painted on pin stripes. Well I had some luck getting the pin stripes off and the paint buffed out pretty good. I spent quite a bit of time really getting the car to shine. It took me two nights, and a lot of elbow grease. As luck would have it though my car got keyed up over the weekend.
I am pretty sure that insurance will pay to repaint the whole car. That being said, I am wondering what is the best way to really keep the paint fresh from day one. When I get the car painted should I pay for extra layers of clear coat? Is there a special paint sealant speficically for brand new paint? thanks again for all the help guys!!

You want to let the paint cure for at least 2 months. I would polish and wax after that you could also use a sealant .

You could always do what my friend did. He had a car that litterally had a $20 paintjob (DIY job) and he used a can of spray on clearcoat to make ghost flames.
