This is the decklid after first pass w/ compound. (YES! Those are MF`s from PAC) Had to go with twisted wool, foam wouldn`t touch it.

Mike - How long did it take you to do that? You used a rotary right?
F`ing awesome job! Good work!
Fasten Your Seat Belt! It helps keep the aliens from sucking you out of the car.
WOW It doesn`t look like the same car... and those water spots on the hood are just lovely :bigscream

What are those products that you used? I have never seen them before. Could you explain you process? What did that owner say when he saw the finished product? Awesome job!
Thanks all for the kind words!
Dalmore: Yes, I did use a rotary and it took about 1/2 day for the exterior.
Don: Thanks! The water spots were horrid. The front end had obviously been repainted at somepoint to a very high standard, IMO. However, I did not cut the hood with wool/aggressive compound because I wasn`t sure how much clear I had to work with. So, I played it safe and used a foam cutting pad with light cut compound. It removed ALL the existing buffer swirls and spider webbing, and cut the water spots down so the are hardly noticable. Have plans to go with the owner to a body shop and will have the paint thickness measured to see if it`s safe to cut those buggers all the way out.
Fireman, these products are an assortment from various chem. suppliers, as well as PAC (thanks Dwayne!)
The process:
Washed car completely.
Masked trim.
Cut with wool/800 grit coompound.
Yellow foam with 1000 grit SMR
Green foam with Stereo #2 polish/glaze
Blue foam with BC-2
Awesome Gloss applied with orbital
And, of course, Final Inspection with MF
Lots of areas by hand. I took 40+ pics on just the exterior. Will post the final 3 steps` pics tonight. Gotta run...

:wait :wait
It is April Fool`s Day isn`t it?
You painted the car, right?
Seriously, it is an unbelieveable transformation. From looking at the before pictures, it appears the clear is destroyed and there wasn`t much left to work with.
You evidently could see that wasn`t the case or you wouldn`t have wasted your time with it, right?
Great job!
One thing people should realize.
Not everyone is going to grab a rotary, tackle a mess like that and achieve the same results.
That, my friends, takes some talent.

:wow
It`s seeing things like this that makes my chosen line of work so rewarding. Anyone can take a new car, apply some wax and call them selves an Auto Detailer. But it takes a real talent and skill to do things like this to a car that many would pass on to a paint shop.
To me, you are the epitome of what "Professional Detailing" is all about.
Keep up the fine job!!
P.S. I hope this isn`t a big April Fool`s prank upon us (hehehe) if so, you still da-man!
A happy customer tells a friend ... An unhappy one tells many friends !!!
Gim-me a car with finns... :naughty and I`ll shows ya what detailin`s all about... :jump
... I want more pics !!! I had a similar experience witha 560 SL last year but no pics !!! I am motivated to find a project worthy of comparison to yours !!! GREAT JOB !!!! X 100
I LOVE IT WHEN I SEE DETAILING EXCELLENCE !!!!
MY HAT GOES OFF !!!!

Thanks everybody for the vote of confidence!
Here`s a few more for your visual enjoyment. (had to split this car into 2 half-days because of the owner`s schedule):jump
Remember the hood with the water spots/spiderwebs/buffer swirls?
