Thumbs up Clay Rocks! Spray vs. Bar observations

My first experience with clay on my wife`s neglected pearl Infiniti - WOW! - what a difference! Clay removed some spots that had been on that car for at least 7 years. Incredible results. If you have a negelected finish you have to clay. It`s unreal the difference it makes. I wish I had taken before pictures. The car was covered with loads of little redish stains that appeared on the car when Pam was working in an industrial area several years ago. All gone now.

On related note, I used two different clay methods and thought I`d share my observations.

I used the diamondite speed clay and the magic clay bar. The results with either method as directed were good. If the "rough" sponge with speed clay scares you, it still works with MF but is a little more work. Overall, I would say personal preference would determine which you like better. Speed Clay cleans the paint faster but takes a bit longer to wipe up. The clay bar cleans more slowly but no wipe up and using it "feels" cool.

:jump But the bomb is to use speed clay as the lube for the clay bar. That combo is incredible. The stains practically jump off the paint! It feels very different so it will take some adjustment for those used to the bar. I will be using that combo on my other two cars on the "revival" cleanup. On a maintained car finish, I`m not sure the extra expense would be worth it.

Very cool to hear. I thought the Diamondite system had a sponge that was just a little to strong but it seems the foam works very well. Good review!

I live where Diamondite is located and I met the owner and he gave me a can to try. I think it works fine but I don`t like the way it hazes and has to be wiped off.

Good review Dalmore. For you to see that big of a difference in a pearl car is amazing---must have really been dirty

Tackle that Z when you get a chance, and then give me a call if you have any ?`s.

P.S. We had some good weather this weekend for it!

I used Diamondite on a dark green car today - HATED IT. It was much more work than the bar on this car. Don`t have a clue why except maybe the color ...
