I have a Yukon to detail this weekend for someone from work. I`m going to wash and clay it, and that leads me to my question:

If after washing it, rather than drying, what if, using the quick detailer spray while the vehicle still has some water on it, I clayed? Would this work? Ok idea or bad idea?

I have used that method, except I use a car wash mixture instead of QD. Have heard about ppl dilluting S&W to use as clay lube though. Should work

I wash, leave wet, mix up new bucket of suds, use the suds as lube(distributed with a clean mitt), clay, rinse, dry. Never had any problem.

I do not dry after washing and then just use QD & clay. The only issue I initially had was the clay bar getting too wet and really having to knead it often. Now I take the sprayer off the hose when I rinse and the majority of the water sheets off.

Thanks. I`m gonna give some variations a try then I think. Might buy me some time. This Yukon needs a good bit of work.
