    DA Velcro Backing

I know there was just a post sorta of like this recently but I had a question. I have 3 pads that I have used for the last 3 details that I`ve done. When washing them today (by hand in the sink) I noticed that the velcro backing is coming off of all 3 of them. The 1 finishing pad was used for all 3 cars and 1 polish twice and the other once. I bought all 3 at one time.

Is this common with these pads? Or did I possibly get a bad batch? I am going to try the 3M emblem adhesive to see if that works in keeping them on.

That is what I heard to use also. I tried hot glue and didn`t get good results, as they have fallen apart on me again :angry. Someone else suggested that Shoe Goo stuff and liked it.

What brand are they? I would send them back :dunno

oops I thought I put that in there. They are the edge pads I bought from PAC. I will try one of the adhesives and hope that keeps them together.

    Thanks for the reply nick

I also have an Edge DA pad with a detaching velcro back. Same situation as yours 89GTA: 3 uses each followed by a hand wash in the sink. I used warm water and Dawn to wash. In 2 years of PC use, this is the only pad I`ve ever had with a velcro problem.

Contact the Edge directly and explain the situation. The velcro shouldnt be coming off the pad so soon. Now if the pad was really old and been used many times, but that doesnt seem to be the case.
    Good luck. Later.

Aaron - Thank you for your generous offer to replace the pads. My problematic pad is one of the green colored, light cut, DA pads. I also have a blue polishing pad and white finishing pad which have each been used twice. They have not yet exhibited any problems with the velcro. All my pads are washed by hand after each use using warm water and Dawn. They are then allowed to air dry.

I will mail the pad via USPS on Monday (delivery confirmation # should be on its way to you via email). Thanks again!

Thanks Aaron. I have 2 cars to do on teus and wed and these are my only pads so hopefuly they hold out. I have no problem trying one of the adhesive fixit methods but if you would like them to look them over then I will send them wed or thurs. Thanks.

P.S. I use the same cleaning method as AWD330
