Where can you get Z-18 at the grocery store?

In the office/school supply section. They are usually with tape, tacks etc.. Its the yellow handy-tack(different companies have different names) stuff that you use to hang up poster, I unaware if the chemical make up is identical, but from a side by side comparison I could not tell the difference.

That is very interesting. What is the price difference when comparing the two?

Eurotech: You are definately using some entrepreneural `outside of the box` thinking by using the blue artists handy-tack. The only question is, or should i say concern, is whether or not they do indeed have the same chemical make-up as the claybar material that detail product manufacturers use.

Can anyone confirm or deny this simmilarity?

There was actually a thread about this a long time ago on Autopia that I remember. (Click here for thread) It was a very interesting discussion. The bottom line is that automotive clay is designed for automobiles. That tacky stuff isn`t going to absorb the particles as well and will result in scratching your car. Clay Magic is 10 dollars at AutoZone. If you can`t afford a $10 bar of clay then do not resort to using that stuff to hang posters. Please don`t do that. Skip a trip to McDonalds a couple times and you are set. Its not worth messing up the car.

    Z-18 ClayBar Price: $16.95

    Poster puddy/Blu tack/ Fun-Tack etc. Price: about 3.50

I am looking at the two right now and elasticity feel etc. are identical, and I have used both w/o being able to tell the difference. so..

Read that thread I linked. They are not the same. Anything but automotive grade clay is going to damage your car. Don`t buy the Zaino clay if it is too expensive for you. for an extra 6.50 you are going to ensure that you are not doing damage. Its probably more product anyway. Read that thread I linked and do some more research. What you are doing is going to damage the paint. There is more to the clay than the look and feel. There is chemistry involved that you can`t see. Water and lamp oil look and feel similar too. Don`t make the mistake of drinking the lamp oil and trying to light the water on this one.
